The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has scooped ‘Luxury Car of the Year’ in the CarBuyer Car of the Year Awards, just three days into its first full year on sale.
Steve Fowler, Editor in Chief of CarBuyer, commented: “Mercedes has always been a byword for luxury and the new S-Class takes it to a whole new level. It manages to perfectly blend the very latest technology with traditional levels of opulence to produce the perfect luxury car.”
The S-Class is world-renowned for setting new benchmarks in terms of refinement, safety and efficiency. Its luxurious cabin brings an unprecedented level of driver and passenger comfort to the market, boasting features like heated leather seats with optional hot stone-style massage and ambient lighting with a choice of seven soothing LED-powered colours.
Pioneering technology includes Magic Body Control: the world’s first suspension system that can read the road ahead and act accordingly, masking even the worst potholes. This ensures an exceptionally smooth ride regardless of the road surface you’re driving on.
The S-Class remains a best-selling car in the UK, with more models being registered in the UK than any other luxury car for six of the eight years it was on sale. The new S-Class aims to build on this success with new engine derivatives joining the existing range, including the S 300 BlueTEC HYBRID and the S 500 Plug-in HYBRID, due to be introduced later this year.
